ICYMI: Coventry Police Arrest Two For Robbing Elderly

Tyrell Rivera-Carpenter, 19, and Randolph Carpenter, 22, both of Providence, were charged in connection with stealing purses, police said.

COVENTRY, RI —Tyrell Rivera-Carpenter, 19, and Randolph Carpenter, 22, both of Providence, were charged in connection with stealing purses, police said. They were arrested Monday afternoon at the Coventry Walmart, 650 Centre of New England Boulevard, after police received a tip they were in the parking lot. Tyrell Carpenter was also wanted in Cranston for allegedly stealing an elderly woman's purse at the Plainfield Pike Walmart.

Tyrell Carpenter is being charged with the following offenses:

License or Permit Required for Carrying Pistol
Driving Without Consent of Owner
Larceny U/ $1500 (2 counts)
Weapons Other Than Firearms Prohibited
Third District Court Bench Warrant
Warrant Affidavit Arrest (out of Cranston PD).

Randolph Carpenter is being charged with these offenses:

License or Permit Required for Carrying Pistol
Driving Without Consent of Owner
Larceny U/ $1500
Shoplifting
Weapons Other Than Firearms Prohibited
Sixth District Court Bench Warrant.

Both accused are being held overnight and will appear in Kent County District Court on Tuesday.
