Coventry Police Charge North Providence Mother With DUI
Police allege she was driving dangerously with a 7-month-old baby in the backseat.
COVENTRY, RI—A North Providence woman is facing a drunk driving charge after she was stopped Monday afternoon on Tiogue Avenue. Coventry police said they went out looking for an "erratic" driver after receiving a complaint, and found Margaret Khoury, 44, with her 7-month-old baby in the backseat. The baby was not hurt. Police called the child's father who took the baby home.
Khoury, who was charged with Driving under the influence, first offense; and Refusal to submit to a chemical test, was taken to a hospital. She is due in court on Feb. 28 for arraignment.
