Coventry Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Motorcycle

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry police officer was involved in a crash with a motorcyclist Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Willow Street and Bassett Street just after 3 p.m. According to police, the officer was driving down Willow Street when the cruiser collided with a motorcycle coming from Basset Street, where there is a posted stop sign.

The motorcyclist was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the officer was not injured.
