Coventry Police Officer Injured In Crash

The police officer was taken to Kent County Hospital in Warwick for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry police officer was injured in a crash Saturday morning, according to police.

The crash happened just before 9:30 a.m., on Tiogue Avenue. Police said a car collided with a police cruiser, when the other driver turned from Rawlinson Drive to Tiogue Avenue.

The police officer was taken to Kent County Hospital in Warwick for his injuries. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Police said the other driver did not complain of injuries and wasn't taken to the hospital.
