COVENTRY, RI — In 2023, Coventry Parks and Recreation will host its first annual July 4 fireworks and celebration.
In Coventry, there are typically some fireworks over Johnston's Pond, but Recreation Director Raena Blumenthal said the town wanted to create an event that was more family-friendly with music, games, food trucks and more.
"We wanted to have a community-wide event, an event that brought everyone together to celebrate and have it inclusive to all age groups, Blumenthal said. "We thought fireworks and good music would really benefit the community."
