Driver, 42, Killed In Weekend Coventry Crash

COVENTRY, RI — One person was killed and another was injured following a crash on Flat River Road in Coventry late Sunday night, police said. The person who died was a 42-year-old man; police withheld his name pending notification of family members.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Gillespie Court and involved the man's vehicle and another vehicle driven by a woman, police said. Both were hospitalized and the man was later pronounced dead. The woman suffered minor injuries, police said.

There were no other occupants in the vehicles, police said.

Coventry police were investigating the crash.
