Driver Who Escaped Cops After Crash Identified: Coventry Police
The Hope Valley man remains at large, police said.

COVENTRY, RI — The Coventry Police identified the driver they say slipped away after crashing into another vehicle and then making a run for it.
David Anthony, 23, faces charges of duty to stop in an accident resulting in personal injury, reckless driving or eluding a law enforcement officer, driving after denial, suspension or revocation for certain violations, and obstructing an officer in execution of duty, police said.

A Coventry officer attempted to pull over a pickup truck hauling a trailer on Route 117 Saturday but the driver sped away, according to police.
"Moments later, the truck collided with another westbound vehicle near Acres of Pine" Road, police said.

The occupants of the rear-ended vehicle were extricated and taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, according to police.
The occupants were evaluated and released from care, police said.

The driver of the pickup fled the crash on foot and remains at large, according to police.

Anthony, a resident of Skunk Hill Road in Hope Valley, remains at large, police said.
