Elderly Shopper Robbed At Coventry Walmart: Police

COVENTRY, RI—Days after a purse snatcher robbed a woman at the Cranston Walmart, an elderly shopper at the Coventry Walmart was robbed in a similar way. A suspect grabbed her purse from the shopping cart and stole $400. The same suspect tried to steal another elderly woman's purse, but she had clipped her bag to the cart and he was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, Cranston police have identified the man who robbed an 86-year-old woman at the Plainfield Pike Walmart. He is Tyrell Rivera Carpenter, 19, of South Providence, police said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 401-477-5150.
