Tax Freedom Day: Today marks 2013 Tax Freedom Day here in the U.S. Did you know that Americans will work more than three and a half months of the year before they've earned enough money to pay this year's tax obligation at the federal, state and local levels? CPD Safety Event: The Coventry Police Department will host a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop from 12-3 p.m. today at Cilantro Mexican Grill in the Centre of New England.

Citizens Taskforce Meeting: The Central Coventry Citizens Taskforce for Fire Protection will meet at 7 p.m. this evening at Club Jogues (184 Boston St.). All members of the public are welcome to attend and share their thoughts. Click here to visit the taskforce's website.
Earth Day Celebration: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, members of the Parks & Recreation Department will host Coventry's annual Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration at the Coventry Greenway Crossing on Station Street. Activities will include the planting of annual flowers, perennials and bulbs, as well as a scenic walk on the Greenway while picking up litter as you stroll. Parks & Rec will supply planting materials, gloves, bags and tools, but feel free to bring your own as well. Refreshments, snacks and Earth Day giveaways will be handed out.
