Today is Monday, March. 18, 2013. Here are five things you need to know:

Skills USA Fundraiser: SkillsUSA Coventry Chapter will hold a pasta and meatball luncheon and dinner on Wednesday, March 20th in the Knotty Oak Room at Coventry High School. The luncheon will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and tickets are $5 per person. Dinner will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and will cost $10 per adult, $5 per child. Students from the CHS SkillsUSA team are selling tickets during lunch periods, but a limited number will be available at the door. Proceeds will support Coventry participants at this year's SkillsUSA competitions where they will demonstrate occupational and leadership skills.
Wantaknowhow 2013 Scholarship: The Wantaknowhow Garden Club is currently accepting applications for its 2013 Scholarship Award. The annual scholarship is available to seniors as well as a former graduate of Coventry High School , Exeter-West Greenwich High School and The Greene School, who is actively pursuing a career in Environmental Science. Applications are available in the school Guidance offices or by contacting Peter Stetson at 821-9499. Completed application should be mailed to Wantaknowhow Garden Club, 4090 Flat River Rd., Greene, 02827 and must be received by March 31.

JPCA Casino Night Fundraiser: The Johnson's Pond Civic Association is hosting a Casino Night at West Valley Inn on Saturday, Mar. 23 at 6 p.m. The event featuring dinner, dancing, raffles and "Fun Money" Vegas-style gaming, costs $50 per person, which will benefit ongoing invasive weed management for the pond as well as the JPCA's annual 4th of July fireworks display. CHS Alumni Musicians: Brad DeGraide, choral director and teacher at CHS, and Marina Ferri (Class of 2008) have scheduled an alumni concert for Apr. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium to benefit the CHS Alumni Association. They are looking for former high school musicians who have remained in the music field either as a teacher, performer or music professional. Plan Ahead - CCFD Special Meeting: Residents within the Central Coventry Fire District should note that a Special Meeting of the district has been scheduled by Special Master Richard Land for Tuesday, Mar. 26, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Coventry High School (40 Reservoir Rd.). The Revised Proposed FY2012-2013 budget and resulting tax levy/rate will be presented and voted on by taxpayers.
