2.) Greene Homestead Tours

Where/When: Gen. Nathanael Greene Homestead (50 Taft St.) ; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.

3.) Community Blood Drive

Where/When: BJ's Wholesale Club (790 Centre of New England Blvd.); Friday, 2-5 p.m.

Why Go: Be a hero and save a life or three by donating blood in the Rhode Island Blood Center Bloodmobile!

4.) Coventry Public Safety Day

Where/When: "Old Almacs/Kmart Plaza", Tiogue Ave.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Join the Coventry firefighters and police officers for a unique, hands-on experience! Check out fire dog demonstrations, a "Jaws of Life", fire simulator, firefighter obstacle course and more! Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be available courtesy of the local firefighters' union.

5.) Paine House Heritage Day

Where/When: Paine House (7 Station St.); Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Check out this historical celebration featuring the 2nd RI Regiment and the Gloucester Light Artillery re-enactors of the American Revolution, Elisha Dyer Camp 7 heavy artillery of the Civil War, musical performances, a Native American Peace Ceremony, craft fair and food court.

6.) Parks & Recreation Round Robin Tournament

Where/When: Paine Field tennis courts; Saturday, 10 a.m. 

Why Go: The Coventry Parks & Recreation Department will hold its First Annual Round Robin Tennis Tournament on Saturday. (Pre-registration is required at the Parks & Rec office, 1277 Main St.) This is an adults only tournament. No high school students allowed. Prizes will be awarded. Rain date is Sept. 30.

7.) Coventry Cares for Chris Bike Run

Where/When: Starts at General Country Store (10 Hope Furnace Rd., Scituate); Sunday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Sign up today to participate in the Coventry Cares for Chris Fundraiser and Bike Run to benefit Coventry resident, 11-year-old Christopher Carlino who is battling Stage 4 Lymphoma for the second time. The run will kick off from the General Country Store parking lot (10 Hope Furnace Rd., Scituate) and finish at the West Warwick Elks' Lodge (60 Clyde St., West Warwick). 8.) Line Dancing

Where/When: Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge; Sunday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
