Lee F. "Red" Ferguson, 80, of Blackrock Rd., passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.

Lee F. “Red” Ferguson, 80, of Blackrock Rd., passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was the husband of the late Jean C. (Jervis) Ferguson. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he was a son of the late Richard and Margaret (Allison) Ferguson.
Lee owned and operated Big Red Construction for many years before retiring. Lee was also employed at the former Farrell Barrel Company, the Anthony Mill, the former Walt Hoxie Drilling and Blasting Company, and the Union Pacific Railroad. Lee was a Mason
and a member of Ionic Lodge #28 F & AM, Greene. Lee was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was stationed with the 751st B. Battery AAA at the NIKE Site in Coventry. Dad was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 12, Coventry.

He was the father of the late Army Master Sergeant Richard L. Ferguson –Special Forces and his wife Marianne of Colorado, Lee F. Ferguson Jr. (Sgt. US Army) and companion Lillian Ketcham of West Warwick, JoAnn E. Phillips and her husband Kevin and Eric J. Ferguson (S. Sgt. US Army) and his companion Marlly Maldonado all of Coventry. He was the brother of Edith Mares of Cheyenne, Wyoming and the late Harry Ferguson and Alta Rawls. Lee is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with a Service followed by military honors at 12:30 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) will be appreciated.
