Penny Still Seeking Her Forever Home: RISPCA

Penny has been staying with the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and she's still waiting for her forever home.

COVENTRY, RI—Penny's friends at the Coventry police department have not forgotten her. On Wednesday, they posted an update on Facebook to say Penny has been staying with the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and she's still waiting for her forever home.

About a year ago, Penny was in the shelter in Coventry after her family had to give her up. Last April 7, she was just about to go home with a new family when she suffered a serious medical emergency. She was rushed to the Coventry Animal Hospital with bloat. Surgery was her only chance. The operation was expensive, but people contributed. Penny has made a full recovery.

She's about 5 now. A mastiff and Akita mix. She's good with older children, and she's house trained. Here's a video showing her now.
