Peter Izzi is KWAOR REALTOR® of the Year

Peter joined the Association as a new licensee in 2005, joining the Legislative and Government Affairs Committee early on, where opportunities for advocacy on real estate and home ownership issues caught his passion. On this committee he went on to become Vice-Chair, Chair in 2011 and again this year. He served the Association as a member of the Building Task Force, Awards Task Force, Consolidation of Services Task Force, and as a member of the Finance, Personnel, Rental and Strategic Planning committee. He served on the KWAOR leadership as a Director, Treasurer, Vice President, President-Elect, 2015 President and Immediate Past President. As this year's KWAOR Government Affairs Chair, Peter has put together an effective team of members who monitor local home ownership issues in their communities, including two who serve on their local town councils.

Peter has been a Director for the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® (RIAR) since 2014. In 2016 he served as a member of RIAR's Nominating and Strategic Planning Committees and on the MLS Advisory Committee for Matrix Integration. He has been a long term member of the RIAR Government Affairs committee, serving currently and from 2008-2013, as Vice Chair in 2009 and Chair in 2010. He has been an active participant in REALTOR® Day on the Hill, meeting with state legislators to promote the REALTOR® organization's position on pending legislation. He has helped to organize a breakfast for local leadership to meet with Rhode Island Representatives and Senators on the hot topics of the day. Peter continues to participate in state and national Calls for Action, and has been a Trustee for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) since 2015. He has attended the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Annual Conference & Expo as well as NAR's Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., where he participated in meetings with Rhode Island's congressional delegation.

As an active member of his community, Peter has supported a variety of causes, including his 2015 President's charity, Sojourner House women's shelter. He also supported and volunteered for Wheels for Jake annual event cookout to raise funds for a vehicle to transport a boy with deteriorating motor skills, and A Lab for Lily event to raise funds for a service animal for a young girl with autism. He is a Life Member of the National Eagle Scouts Association, an organization that he continues to support.

Nominated five years in a row by past clients for superior service, Peter has been a RI Monthly 5 Star Award winner. He was recognized as one of 2016's Top 100 Producing Agents statewide, and is a past recipient of the Kent Washington Circle of Sales Excellence Award. Peter has achieved the Designations of GRI, CRS, ABR, and SRES, and is a certified e-Pro®.

Peter is one of five nominees for 2017 Rhode Island State REALTOR® of the Year. The winner will be announced at the Rhode Island Association's Annual Installation of Officers and Directors on October 18th.
