Philly Faker Caught In Coventry: Cops

The Philadelphia resident was charged with the importation or possession of a counterfeit certificate, bill or note, police said.

COVENTRY, RI — A Philadelphia resident was arrested Saturday night on a charge of importation or possession of a counterfeit certificate, bill or note, police said.

Samba Soumare, 36, was arrested about 10:15 p.m. following a "motor vehicle accident," the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

"The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 95 and was subsequently located on New London Turnpike in the Town of Coventry," according to the release.

"Mr. Soumare was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court date," the release said.
