Philly Fugitive Captured in Coventry: Cops

A wanted Philadelphia man was arrested following a traffic accident, police said.

COVENTRY, RI — A wanted Philadelphia man was apprehended following a Saturday night traffic accident, police said.

Jacob Momo, 35, was arrested about 10:15 p.m. on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

The warrant originated from the Philadelphia Police Department, according to the release.

"The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 95 and was subsequently located on New London Turnpike in the Town of Coventry," the release said.

Momo was one of two Philadelphia men arrested following the Saturday night accident, police said.

Samba Soumare, 36, also was arrested, police said.

Soumare was taken into custody on a charge of importation or possession of a counterfeit certificate, bill or note, according to police.

Soumare was arraigned and released from custody, police said, and Momo was "held overnight as (a) Fugitive from Justice."
