Police ID Victim Of Fatal Weekend Crash As Coventry Resident

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry police identified the victim of a fatal crash on Flat River Road Sunday night. Ian Evans, 42, was a Coventry resident.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Gillespie Court. Evans, the driver of one of the two vehicles involved in the crash, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

The driver of the second vehicle, a woman, was also taken to the hospital with what police called minor injuries. No other vehicles or people were involved in the crash, police said.
