Rabid Racoon Found: Coventry Police
The animal was found near Pulaski and Washington. Police are alerting residents to check their pets' vaccinations.

COVENTRY, RI—A raccoon tested positive for rabies, Coventry police say. They are alerting residents the animal was found near Pulaski and Washington. Other wildlife in that area may also be exposed or carrying the disease. If pets were exposed to wildlife in that area, people need to contact the Coventry Animal Control at 401-822-9106. And people who may have been exposed are expected to contact the state Department of Health at 401-222-2577.
Police also remind people to make sure the pets' vaccinations are up to date.
