Recycling Reminder: Plastic Toys, Pools, Aren't Trash

Coventry residents can drop off rigid plastic items like chairs, buckets, kiddie pools and more at the town's transfer station for free.

COVENTRY, RI — If your child outgrows their classic blue plastic kiddie pool this summer or you're ready to replace those old, white plastic chairs, don't break them up and put them in the trash. Instead, Coventry residents can bring them to the town's transfer station, where they can be dropped off for free to be recycled.

The town's transfer station is located behind the library/town hall complex at 1670 Flat River Rd. and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.to 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Items that can be dropped off for free recycling include, but are not limited to:

  • Buckets
  • Outdoor children's toys
  • Resin outdoor chairs and furniture
  • Laundry baskets
  • Trash barrels
