Chances are, your closet, basement or other storage area has at least one old TV, computer or electoric that's broken or out of date. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will be accepting old electronics at an e-waste collection event on Friday afternoon.

"Special collection events like this make it easy to do the right thing with e-waste," said Krystal Noiseux, the education and outreach manager at RI Resource Recovery. "In addition to the TVs and computers that are banned from landfill disposal, this event gives residents the opportunity to recycle even more electronic items, helping to further extend the life of the state’s Central Landfill."

The DEM is partnering with Indie Cycle for the collection event, which will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Goddard Park Farmer's Market on Friday.
