COVENTRY, RI — The deadline for Coventry residents to register dog licenses is approaching. Pet owners have until April 30 to renew their license with the town clerk's office.
Ahead of the deadline, the town clerk's office released the list of the most popular dog names so far in 2023.
As of Thursday, Max has the top spot, with six registered. Bella is in second place with five dogs registered with that name. Here's a look at the rest of the list:

Licenses cost $8 per year, and renewals can be completed by mail. The application can be downloaded from the town's website.
Under town ordinances, all dog owners must have a license for their dog. Failure to do so could result in a $25 fine, with larger amounts for repeat offenses. Rabies vaccinations must also be kept up to date.
