See RI School Closings, Distance Learning Days Due To Winter Storm

Most RI school districts that have made a decision canceled school Tuesday, though some are choosing to have virtual learning days.

RHODE ISLAND — The following Rhode Island public school districts have either closed or established a virtual learning on Thursday because of a winter storm that is dropping several inches of snow across the state.

While snow totals are not forecast to be particularly high — 2 to 4 inches across the state, it will be a messy one with the National Weather Service saying that snow will rapidly overspread the region between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday.
