Warwick Man, 19, Killed In Crash On I-95 North
Gadge Mello and his underage passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle in the crash, police said.

WEST GREENWICH, RI — Rhode Island State Police identified the victim of a fatal crash on Interstate 95 North on Sunday evening as 19-year-old Gadge Mello.
The Warwick resident and an underage passenger hit a tree off of the highway around 7:15 p.m., police said, throwing both from the vehicle. Neither were wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
Mello and the passenger were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died Monday, police said. The extent of the minor's injuries, nor their age, was disclosed.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, though it is still under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to reach out to the department's Hope Valley barracks at 401-444-1068.
