Watch Out For Secret Shopper Scams: Coventry Police

The Coventry Police Department warned of a "resurgence" of secret shopper scams.

COVENTRY, RI — The Coventry Police Department has warned of a "resurgence" of secret shopper scams.

"We are seeing a resurgence of these secret shopper scams," the department posted to its Facebook page earlier this week.

"If it sounds too easy, it is probably a scam," the post said. "Never buy Apple gift cards, other gift cards or transfer digital payments on the request of another party that you do not know personally. Always follow your gut feelings."
