Woman, 38, Seriously Injured In Coventry Crash

The woman was walking on Tiogue Avenue when she was hit, causing serious injuries.

COVENTRY, RI — A woman was hit and injured on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry early Monday morning, police said.

The crash happened a little before 6 a.m. near a bank in the 700 block of the road. The victim, a 38-year-old woman, was stabilized by emergency crews at the scene, and taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious, but not-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Neither the driver nor the victim was identified.
