1 Hospitalized After School Bus Crashes Into Car In Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston school bus with 29 students on board crashed into a car Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police said the crash on Phenix Avenue sent one person to the hospital.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. According to police, a car stopped to let someone turn into the Speedway parking lot, leading to the bus rear ending the stopped vehicle. Police said the bus driver was not able to stop in time.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital, but police said they don't believe their injuries were serious. Police said a student on the bus also complained of pain, but their parents refused transport to the hospital.

According to police, the bus sustained minor damage.
