5 Vehicles Involved In Truck Crash That Closed I-95: State Police
The tractor-trailer hit four other vehicles before rolling over and blocking all lanes of I-95 South in Providence, state police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The crash that completely closed I-95 South for about two hours Wednesday involved a tractor-trailer truck and four vehicles, Rhode Island State Police said. No serious injuries were reported.
The crash happened just after 8 a.m. at the Downtown Providence exit (22 A, B, C). According to police, the truck rear-ended a vehicle before side-swiping another and veering to the left, hitting the center median. The truck then swerved right, hit two more vehicles and the barrier on the right, before rolling over and blocking all four lanes of the highway.
All the vehicles involved had to be towed away, police said, and four of the drivers were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with "complaints of pain." It took police about two hours to reopen the highway to traffic.
