Bertucci's Rolling Out Special Menu With '80s Prices In And Near RI

Some menu items will be as cheap as $3.25.

WARWICK, RI — Bertucci's Italian restaurant is celebrating 40 years of business, and as part of that celebration, the Massachusetts-based chain is offering a special throwback menu - priced like it's the 1980s.

For four days in July, the chain will offer dine-in customers at all its locations, including in Rhode Island, the chance to get menu items for as little as $3.25 to $6 for ten menu items.

Select menu items will be offered at a nearly 75 percent discount to commemorate with the prices of the first restaurant which opened in Somerville, Massachusetts in 1981.

Known for their brick-oven pizzas, heaping pasta portions, and bread rolls, Bertucci's has been a family name for years. But rising gas prices have created a minor setback for the chain, as delivering food has become more expensive than serving in-house. Earl says this promotion is his way of offering momentary help to his customers during uncertain times.

"You got 40 years of local, loyal customers," Robert Earl, CEO of Bertucci's said in a statement. "Prices are going through the roof because of the labor supply and supply chain of food. You turn on any TV and all you see is recession and inflation."
