PROVIDENCE, RI — Is your little one hoping to celebrate New Year's Eve, but isn't quite ready to stay up until midnight this year? Come ring in 2022 a few hours early at the Providence Children's Museum.

The organization will hold its annual "Noon Year's Eve" party twice on Friday, once at noon and again in the afternoon. Families can say farewell to 2021 while enjoy the music of Rock-A-Baby at one of two sessions: 11 a.m. to noon and 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Kids can enjoy dancing, playing musical instruments and a New Year's parade. A ball drop will be held in the Children's Garden at noon.

The events will be held outdoors to celebrate safely during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"We are thrilled to welcome back the cutest New Year’s Eve celebration in Rhode Island," said Caroline Payson, the museum's executive director. "What better way to send off 2021 and welcome in the new beginnings of 2022 than with PCM and Rock-a-Baby? It’s truly Rhode Island’s own Rocking New Year’s Eve."

Tickets can be purchased in advance online, and a few walk-up tickets will be available day-of. Take-home kits will also be available to help families keep the party going after the event ends.
