COVID-19 Test Company Accused Of Being A Scam Has 2 Sites In RI

Newsweek reported that the "Center For Covid Control" is being investigated by the Better Business bureau.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A COVID-19 testing company under investigation for reportedly scamming customers has two locations in Rhode Island. The "Center For Covid Control" has sites in West Warwick and Smithfield.

Newsweek reported that the Better Business Bureau opened an investigation into the company after receiving numerous reports that customers never received test results, or that results had incorrect information.

The Illinois-based company currently has an F rating on the BBB's website, along with a one-star rating and five registered complaints from the public.

The company describes itself as "a distinctive organization applying the highest level of service in the fight against SARS – coV-2 (Covid-19) by offering varying forms of testing" on its "About" page.

"We are partnered with a CDC approved & licensed laboratory which is registered with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)," the description continues. "Safeguarding the health of everyone during these times is of utmost importance, we are on a mission to help stop the spread of the virus. Giving people the comfort that they need to be around one another by getting tested regularly. By taking all the necessary precautions together we can bring an end to this virus."
