Cranston Gets $250K Grant For Arlington Neighborhood Improvements
Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins says the grant improvement will attract visitors and boost local commerce.
CRANSTON, RI — Cranston was awarded a $250,000 grant to improve Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility and streetscape features in the Arlington neighborhood and around the Governor Sprague Mansion, Mayor Ken Hopkins said Thursday.
This latest grant is awarded through Gov. Dan McKee’s and Rhode Island Commerce’s Main Street RI Streetscape Improvement Fund and Site Readiness program. The program aims to improve commercial districts, enhance sidewalks, upgrade building facades, improve street lighting, and more.
"With new streetscape features, improved ADA accessibility and other amenities, our historic Arlington neighborhood will be bolstered by these quality-of-life improvements," Hopkins said.
