Cranston Man Sought for Pokémon Go-Related Assault

Police said Kalada Fubara punched and kicked a woman after dragging her from a car when she refused to join his team in the popular game.

CRANSTON, RI — Cranston police are looking for 44-year-old Kalada Fubara for an alleged assault of a 22-year-old woman after she reportedly refused to join him in a Pokémon Go gym in Cranston on Saturday.

Police said Kalada Fubara, of Cranston, was angry that the woman, who was traveling in the same car, refused to join him in a Pokémon Go gym at Wellington Avenue and Laruens Street.

Fubara reportedly pulled the woman out of the car by her hair, pulling some out. He then punched and kicked her, according to police.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and later released.

Police said Fubara has fled and anyone with information is asked to call Cranston police.
