Cranston Man Who Robbed 9 Banks Sentenced To Time Served For Robbing Another
Justin Worley 44, known as the "Bearded Bandit," admits he robbed a bank in East Providence in 2019 with a partner who was carrying a knife.
CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston man known to authorities as the "Bearded," who served more than six years in federal prison for robbing nine banks, was sentenced Friday to time served for robbing an East Providence bank in 2019.
Justin Worley, 44, pleaded guilty in October 2024 to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery. Along with the time served, Worley must serve three years of supervised release, with the first six months in a residential re-entry center. He must also pay $11,569 in restitution.
In pleading guilty, Worley admitted that on Dec. 31, 2024, he and a co-defendant demanded tellers at an East Providence bank empty their money drawers. Prosecutors said the second man, Nicholas Lage, 39, brandished a knife during the robbery.

According to prosecutors, the two men left the bank with $11,569. They were found later that evening at Twin River Casino in Lincoln.
Prosecutors said Worley violated the terms of his probation by committing the robbery. He was previously convicted for robbing nine banks in 2012.

Lage pleaded guilty on April 1, 2021, to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery. He was sentenced on Aug. 6, 2021, to three years in prison and three years of federal probation.
