Cranston Police Warn of Man Posing as Water Company Employee
If a man in a gray Chrysler Pacifica claims to be from Providence Water and starts asking questions, call police.

CRANSTON, RI—Cranston police are alerting residents about a suspicious man who reportedly is knocking on doors and pretending to be an employee of Providence Water Company.
Police said that the man, described as a white man in his 50s with gray hair has been "asking questions of residents" and his activities has resulted in numerous reports to police.
The man reportedly is driving a gray Chrysler Pacifica.

Providence Water told police that no such employees have been conducting this type of activity in the area.
"While the Cranston Police Department is investigating these incidents, we ask that you remain vigilant and report ANY/ALL cases of suspicious activity," police said in a post on their Facebook page.

If someone comes to your door and claims to be from the water company, call Providence Water at 401-521-6300 if you feel the least bit uncomfortable, police said.
Utility companies are always willing to confirm whether a person is an employee or not.
