Cranston Street Coin Laundry Robbed at Knifepoint
Police are searching for a suspect who displayed a knife and threatened the clerk at Laundry Basket on Cranston Street.
CRANSTON, RI—Cranston police are investigating a knifepoint robbery at Laundry Basket on Cranston Street.
Police said a man entered the coin operated laundry at around 10 p.m. on Sunday wearing blue jeans, dark boots and a dark hooded sweatshirt and approached the clerk at the cash register.
“He then leaned over the front counter and demanded the money in the cash register,” police said in a request for assistance on their Facebook page. “The suspect then displayed a knife and threatened the clerk as well as another patron in the store when they came to the clerk’s aid. The suspect subsequently left store with the money and fled northbound on Cranston Street.”
