Cranston Woman Wins $150K On Powerball Ticket

While the $526 million Powerball jackpot winning ticket was sold in California, Saturday's drawing did bring some luck to Rhode Island.

The winning ticket was sold at Bestway at 280 Atwood Ave. in Cranston, and matched four numbers, plus the Powerball, number to win the $50,000 standard payout.

CRANSTON, RI — While the $526 million Powerball jackpot winning ticket was sold in California, Saturday's drawing did bring some luck to Rhode Island.

A Cranston woman won $150,000 during the same Powerball drawing, Rhode Island Lottery officials said. The winning ticket was sold at Bestway at 280 Atwood Ave. in Cranston, and matched four numbers, plus the Powerball, number to win the $50,000 standard payout. But because the player opted for the Power Play feature — which multiplies non-jackpot prizes — her winnings tripled to $150,000.

The next Powerball drawing is at 11 p.m Wednesday. The jackpot is estimated to be about $20 million.
