Cranston's Saccoccio and Associates Buys CDR Maguire Architecture Division
The Park Avenue firm has expanded its reach around the country, will take on more projects and expects to keep growing.

CRANSTON, RI—Saccoccio & Associates, a Park Avenue architecture firm, has acquired the architecture division of CDR Maguire and will become the professional engineering and emergency management company's architect of record.
Saccoccio & Associates executives announced the acquisition on Wednesday and said they had assumed CDR Maguire's existing portfolio and began serving as the architect of record in January. The two companies will continue to partner on future projects.
"This acquisition expands our footprint and gives us an opportunity to grow," Mark Saccoccio said. "It also aligns us with a well respected, national engineering firm. This partnership will give our architects a chance to work on some very exciting projects around the country."

Some CDR Maguire employees will move to Saccoccio & Associates but will remain in their office in Milton, Mass. New hires are expected in both the Cranston and Milton offices, officials said, and "other CDR Maguire locations around the country as needed," according to the release.
CDR Maguire President Carlos A. Duart said that his company will be strengthened by the deal.

Saccoccio & Associates, established in 1973, is a prominent architectural firm in Rhode Island with numerous major projects, including schools, housing developments and public buildings like Meeting Street School, North Kingstown High School, URI’s Ballentine Hall, the Rhode Island Center for the Performing Arts (Park Cinema), the Potowomut fire station in Warwick, the Smithfield police station and the Cranston police station.
CDR Maguire reports managing more than $2 billion in public sector projects and has worked on the Interstate 195 relocation project, Gillette Stadium, the Ryan Center at the University of Rhode Island and the Oak Bluffs Terminal Expansion in Martha's Vineyard.
