Dunkin' Giving Away Free Donuts In RI For National Donut Day
Take advantage of National Donut Day. When you buy a drink, you'll get a free donut while supplies last.

RHODE ISLAND — National Donut Day is back! And to celebrate, Dunkin' is offering free donuts to everyone who buys a drink Friday.
Dunkin' customers, including in Rhode Island, can pick up their donuts on June 3 at participating Dunkin’ locations while supplies last.
National Donut Day originally started in 1938, when the Salvation Army decided the first Friday in June would be National Donut Day, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Red Sox legend Tim Wakefield even showed his support by handing out donuts to customers at the Hingham, Massachusetts, Dunkin' Friday.
According to their website, the story of Dunkin' began in 1948 with a donut and coffee restaurant in Quincy, Massachusetts, called "Open Kettle." Founder William Rosenberg served donuts for 5 cents and cups of coffee for ten cents. After a brainstorming session with executives, Rosenberg renamed the restaurant "Dunkin' Donuts" in 1950.
