Fire Destroys Applebee's At Garden City In Cranston: Report

Cranston Fire Chief Robert Ryan says the cause appeared to be a grease fire in the kitchen​. The restaurant was deemed a total loss.

CRANSTON, RI — The Applebee's at Garden City in Cranston caught fire Wednesday morning.

Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire and have been on the scene since around 5:30 a.m. Crews found heavy flames and smoke billowing from the roof.

Fire Chief Robert Ryan told WPRI 12 the cause appeared to be a grease fire in the kitchen. He also said the building is a total loss.
