Howl-o-ween Hike N Treat for Dogs on Sunday, October 22

Join us for Furry Fella's Howl-o-ween Hike N Treat on Sunday, October 22, 2023 starting at 2 pm at the field across from the Dog Park located within Warwick City Park, Steven O'Connor Blvd, Warwick, RI. Rain date is Sunday, October 29th.

Howl-o-ween Hike N Treat is for dogs and their humans. There will be vendors, games, dog snacks, human treats and a group walk around the paved trail loop. City Park’s scenic loop is roughly 2.9 miles, and the average time to complete is 55 mins. Enter the costume contest with 3 chances to wow the judges (3rd, 2nd and 1st place prizes)! There will be a fun photo op set up for dogs. Costumes are encouraged for both dog and humans, but not required. No dog, no problem – come shop the vendors, learn about adoptable shelter animals!

This event itself is free to attend.

Advance registration for the dog walk is required, with a $10 donation.

Advanced costume contest registration is required, with a $10 donation.

Proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter.

Hike check-in begins at 2 pm at the Furry Fella's booth. The hike will start promptly at 2:30 pm. Check-in for the costume contest will be at the Furry Fellas booth from 2 to 4:30 pm, or by 4 pm if only participating in costume contest. The costume contest will begin at 4:45 pm with prizes awarded at the conclusion.

All leashed, well-behaved, friendly and vaccinated dogs are welcome. No aggressive dogs or dogs in heat. No flexi-leads.

Required vaccine for dogs: Rabies vaccine form or exemption letter from veterinarian.

Recommended dog vaccines for dogs coming into contact with other dogs: Distemper combo and Bordetella (aka kennel cough vaccine)
