I Choose Dance - back in action

The Non-Profit, I Choose Dance, founded by the Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Warwick, is back in Action for the year 2023-24

The non Profit "I Choose Dance" is back in action.
The mission of this non-profit is bringing Ballroom Dancing to High-School Students in
Rhode Island for free. Every week, volunteers from the Fred Astaire
Dance Studios - Warwick travel to Cranston East High School to teach
students Ballroom Dance. The goal is to allow students to experience the
benefits that dance has to offer. It creates a community in the school
and allows these teenagers to learn not just the skill of dance, but
communication, partnership, team-work and of course an exposure to arts.
Founded
by Emily Cortez, co-owner of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Warwick,
the non-profit first came into existence in 2019. Due to Covid, the
in-school teaching had to be suspended for quite some time, but the
organization still held gift-basket drives to support the student body
in need of school-supplies.
Coming back into action in 2021, the
organization has exposed many teenagers to dance, they've even
participated in a competition.

The 2023-24 school year is now
back in action, and I Choose Dance is back in the school weekly to once
again share the love of dance.
If you are interested in supporting their endeavors, please reach out to ecortez@fredastaire.com
Thankful for all donations and support, this non-profit is excited to be back in Action!
