Obituary: Harriet E. Gowen, 90
Harriet E. Gowen, 90, a resident of Cranston for 60 years, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, Tuesday March 1, 2016.

Harriet E. Gowen, 90, a resident of Cranston for 60 years, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, Tuesday March 1, 2016 at West Shore Health Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William Randall and Louise (Oakes) Allegretto.
Harriet was a secretary for 25 years in the Sporting Goods Division of the former Barker Chadsey Company, prior to their closing and worked at Phred's Drug retiring at age 80. She was Past Secretary of the Cranston Senior Center Garden Club and former member of the Oak Hill Garden Club. Harriet was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church for 50 years.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Pennacchia and son-in-law Edward Beaudoin , two grandchildren; Jonathan Richard, Stefanie Pennacchia and companion Justin Anderson and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Julianna Anderson, all of Cranston. She was the sister of Virginia Tevyaw of West Warwick and the late Fred, Kenneth and Robert Randall. She was the mother of the late James Francis Gowen. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Harriet's family greatly appreciates the care provided by the entire staff at West Shore Health Center and Beacon Hospice, especially Marissa, Beth, Lisa, Cassandra and Chrissy.
Her funeral is Monday at 9:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. VISITATION Sunday 2:00 -5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice 1130 Ten Rod Road Suite C-104, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
