Thousands Lose Power In Cranston Saturday

Across the state thousands of people were knocked off the grid when strong storms came through.

CRANSTON, RI—Across Rhode Island more than 13,000 electric customers were in the dark Saturday, as of 9:30 p.m., National Grid said. All of them were expected to have service restored by 11:30 p.m. In Cranston, 5,196 households were affected. In Coventry, 1,222 households were off the grid.
