Pontiac Avenue In Cranston Closing This Weekend For Construction

The closure is needed for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation to begin sliding two bridge decks into place at the Pontiac Avenue.

The first closure will be from 8 p.m. Nov. 11 to 6 a.m. to Nov. 14. The second one is from 8 p.m. Nov. 18 to 6 p.m. Nov. 21.

CRANSTON, RI — Pontiac Avenue in Cranston will close for two consecutive weekends, beginning Friday, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation said.

The closure is needed for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation to begin sliding two bridge decks into place at the Pontiac Avenue.

Parts of Route 37 westbound and eastbound will be affected, but travelers can access the Pontiac Avenue ramps to move on Route 37. The first closure will be from 8 p.m. Nov. 11 to 6 a.m. to Nov. 14. The second one is from 8 p.m. Nov. 18 to 6 p.m. Nov. 21.
