Providence Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash In Cranston

Cranston police say the 39-year-old Providence man lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guard rail on Wellington Avenue on Monday.

CRANSTON, RI — A Providence man died Monday in a motorcycle crash in Cranston, according to police.

Cranston police said the crash happened around 6:10 p.m. on Wellington Avenue. According to police, the man lost control of his motorcycle and struck the guardrail.

Police identified the crash victim as Alexander Pena, 39. Pena was thrown from his motorcycle and ended up stuck between a guardrail and a fence, police said. Police also said Pena was not wearing a helmet. He was ruled dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police said they believe speed was a factor.
