Rhode Island Named Second-Worst State To Drive In: WalletHub

For yet another year in a row, the Ocean State was in the bottom five.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island is once again one of the worst states to drive in, according to the latest report from WalletHub. The Ocean State was ranked second-to-last at number 49.

To determine the ranking, the personal finance website compared all 50 states across 31 metrics such as average gas prices and road quality.

This year's ranking placed Rhode Island several slots lower than years before. While it has been in the bottom five for several years, it fell from number 45 last year.

Iowa was ranked first in the country, followed by Oklahoma and Kansas. The only state ranked lower than Rhode Island was Hawaii.
