RI to Get Spring Fever This Week

Temperatures could reach 70 by midweek.

RHODE ISLAND—Don't be surprised to bare legs and shoulders this week. Record high temperatures could be in store for much of Rhode Island on Wednesday as part of a notable warm-up, according to the National Weather Service.

It has been a mild winter for Rhode Island and while it's still winter, this week will feel utterly springlike with a high of 67 on Wednesday, the weather service said.

The warmth begins Monday with a high of about 50 for most of the state. The real warmth begins Tuesday with a high of 57, followed by Wednesday, which is foretasted to be sunny and warm with a high of 67. The record high for Rhode Island is 66 degrees on March 9, which was set in 2002.

The warmth continues on Thursday with a high of 64.

Temperatures will cool by Friday, according to the weather service, but temperatures should stay in the 50s during the daytime through the weekend.
