Scattered Parking Bans In Rhode Island Ahead Of Morning Storm
A handful of towns declared parking bans ahead of up to two inches of snow throughout the morning.

RHODE ISLAND — With up to two inches of snow expected throughout the morning commute Thursday, several towns declared parking bans. So far, no schools opted for a delayed start or distance learning.
The following towns had parking bans in place as of 4 p.m. Wednesday:
- Coventry: Midnight to 6 p.m. Thursday
- Portsmouth: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday
- Smithfield: Midnight to 5 p.m. Thursday
- Tiverton: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday

The bulk of the snow is expected to fall between 5 a.m. and noon, making for potentially hazardous conditions during the morning commute. Much of Rhode Island will see one to two inches of snow, with slightly more accumulation in the northwest corner of the state and a little less along the coast.
