Rhode Island saw far less snow accumulation that initially forecasted.

RHODE ISLAND — A messy mixture of snow and sleet hit southern New England Friday, making for a messy day across the state. While there wasn't much snow accumulation in Rhode Island, the icy made for hazardous road conditions.
Rhode Island saw considerably less snow than initially forecasted after the snow changed over to sleet earlier than expected. There was a lot of uncertainty about the Rhode Island forecast, which initially showed much high accumulation for the state.
Snow reports were scattered across Rhode Island, with the National Weather Service only reported measurements for Providence County. Burrillville had the highest at four inches.

- Pawtucket: 3.3 inches, 10:50 a.m.
- Cumberland: 3.1 inches, 8:15 a.m.
- Johnston: 3 inches, 10 a.m.
- Scituate: 2.9 inches, 10:10 a.m.
