Thanksgiving Store Hours: Retailers Closed In Rhode Island
Most retailers aren't even allowed to open on Thanksgiving in Rhode Island.
Thanksgiving is generally reserved for family time, watching football and eating too much turkey. But more and more people are looking to get a jump on Black Friday every year by hitting the stores a day early.
That still isn't the case in Rhode Island, however. Most retailers in Rhode Island are banned from opening on the holiday. It's one of a few states, along with Massachusetts and Maine, that don't allow for certain businesses to open on Thanksgiving.
That's a stark contrast from other states, in which some stores like Walmart will be open 24 hours to shuffle in and out holiday shoppers.
